Runonlaulajan Pirtti

This is the main building atop Parppeinvaara. The first post-war building to be constructed in the traditional Karelian style, it was completed in 1964.

Daily in summer you can hear the kantele, a Finnish musical instrument with a very special sound. Guides and musicians dress in the "feresi", a modernised version of folk garments of the past.
